Recap: Portland vs. Santa Clara

Kevin Foster scored 20 points and handed out seven assists to lead the Santa Clara Broncos over the Portland Pilots, 75-63, in a West Coast Conference battle at the Chiles Center.

Marc Trasolini and Raymond Cowels III each added 17 points for Santa Clara (20-9, 8-6 WCC) which has won three of its last four outings.

Kevin Bailey and Thomas van der Mars each tallied 11 points for Portland (11-19, 4-11) which lost for the third time in the last four games.

The Broncos rolled out to a 44-30 lead at the break by shooting an even 50 percent from the floor, including a 9-of-15 effort from beyond the arc.

In the second half Santa Clara cooled to 38.5 percent shooting but hit on 10-of-12 from the free-throw line to secure the victory.

Santa Clara outscored Portland, 12-3, in second chance points and had a 46-31 edge in rebounds.
