ATHENS - There are those who would call this a dead time. They would be wrong.

The college basketball season is hitting the stretch drive, with two weeks left in the regular season.

The college baseball season is underway. (Although Georgia wishes it could hit the reset button.)

And spring football practice begins on Saturday.

Plus, there are a number of other off-field issues percolating, from recruiting deregulation to a potential college football arms race and to the epidemic of writers not really knowing a good way to finish a sentence.
