Fallen tree causes accident on Steam Mill Road; police clearing road

Police are removing a tree that fell across Steam Mill Road early this morning and caused one accident, according to the Columbus Police Department's patrol division.

Officials said the fallen tree has caused one accident with injuries. Chief Ricky Shores of the Columbus Fire Department said the occupant had to be pulled out of the car using special equipment. No further information about the accident was available as 10:30 a.m.

Police have been working on clearing the road since 4:30 a.m. The tree likely fell due to weather conditions.
