March 2: 'The Mikado' Gilbert & Sullivan opera to be performed

One of Gilbert & Sullivan's most popular works, "The Mikado" comes to the Bill Heard Theatre, inside RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, 900 Broadway.

Set in Japan, the operetta satirizes British politics and institutions. The term "pooh-bah," which means someone who holds many positions, comes from this operetta.

It will be presented by the Gilbert & Sullivan Players at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2.
