As one of the “World’s Most Admired” companies, make it a dandy dozen for the Columbus company known as Aflac.

The firm, headquartered on Wynnton Road, appears on the 2013 list compiled by Fortune magazine. The list currently is here, with those recognized also appearing in the March 18 print edition of the magazine.

This is the 12th time on the list for Aflac, which was rated the top company in the life and health category. Areas impacting inclusion on the list included innovation, corporate assets, people management, long-term investment, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness.

The Columbus firm sells supplemental insurance policies in the U.S. and in Japan. Roughly 75 percent of its business is done in the Asian nation.

“We work hard every day to be a company that delivers on its promises with efficiency and integrity,” Aflac Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dan Amos said in a statement.
