An aggravated assault was reported on Third Avenue Sunday morning after police received a report of a man shot in the calf, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

Officers arrived at The Medical Center at about 4 a.m. Sunday. The 40-year-old man told police he was near the 2400 block of 3rd Avenue when he was shot in the calf area of his left leg.

The suspects were not described in the report. The case is under investigation.
