Vikings release WR Jenkins

The Minnesota Vikings have released veteran wide receiver Michael Jenkins.

The Ohio State product, a former first round pick in 2004, was due a $2.4 million roster bonus on March 16. He had 40 catches for 449 yards and two touchdowns in 2012, his ninth NFL season. Jenkins also added three more catches for 96 yards and a score in the Vikings' playoff loss at Green Bay.

Jenkins, who spent the first seven years of his career in Atlanta, has 354 career receptions for 4,427 yards and 25 TDs.
