A 17-year-old student at Hardaway High School on College Drive was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana Tuesday morning, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

An officer charged the juvenile after the principal called police into his office to discuss the matter. Less than a gram of marijuana was found during the search.

The juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana and taken to Muscogee County Jail.

An earlier version of this article incorrectly identified the drug seized in one sentence. The student was found with marijuana.
