Bobo set to get a big raise

ATHENS - As long expected, Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo is receiving a substantial raise, as are two other assistant coaches, while others, including defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, are also receiving slight bumps.

Bobo's new contract will pay him $575,000 annually, according to records provided by UGA through an Open Records Act request. Bobo's has been earning $335,000 this season, when he guided an offense that set school records for touchdowns and points in a season, and led the nation in yards-per-play.

That's not the only bump: Offensive line coach Will Friend will be earning $300,000, up from $210,000. Friend is entering his third season as Georgia's offensive line coach.

And receivers coach Tony Ball, who interviewed last week at Tennessee before accepting a Georgia counter-offer, gets a raise of $50,000, up to $260,000.

Meanwhile, Grantham is also receiving a slight raise, $25,000, putting him at $850,000 per year.

Athletics director Greg McGarity said those were "adjusted salaries." McGarity said head coach Mark Richt ultimately made the salary requests, and McGarity signed off.

UGA only provided a list of each coach's adjusted salary. McGarity declined to say whether anybody besides Grantham - who signed a three-year contract last year - was set to receive a multiyear deal.

Combined with Richt's raise this offseason, the 10 full-time coaches on Georgia's staff will be earning $6.09 million, up from $5.55 million this past season.

Secondary coach Scott Lakatos: $235,000
Tight ends coach John Lilly: $235,000
Running backs coach Bryan McClendon: $235,000
