A man was arrested and charged with intent to distribute marijuana Wednesday after he was found with the substance in a Dollar General parking lot, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

An officer approached Michael Moore, 28, after they noticed a car in the back of the parking lot of the Dollar General on St. Mary's Road at about 1:30 a.m. The car matched the description of burglary suspects from earlier in the week.

When the officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana, he searched the car and found a clear baggie with a green leafy substance in the backseat where Moore had been sitting. The marijuana inside was divided into several individual bags. After police asked Moore about the substance, he allegedly said, "Yeah, that sh-- is mine, so let's go."

The total amount of marijuana found was 13.3 grams, valued at $133.00.

Moore was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent. He was transported to Muscogee County Jail.
