March 15: Sheryl Lee Ralph to speak at Empowerment Luncheon

Davis Broadcasting Inc. hosts the 11th Annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon on March 15 at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center. This year’s theme is “Women Leaving a Legacy: Live to Inspire Others.” The keynote speaker is Sheryl Lee Ralph. This triple threat Original Dream girl is an acclaimed veteran of film, television, and the Broadway stage. Her work includes creating the role of Deena Jones in the legendary Broadway musical, “Dreamgirls,” and earning Best Actress nods for Tony and Drama Desk Awards.

She has worked with Denzel Washington, Robert de Niro, Danny Glover, Eddie Murphy and many more. No stranger to television, Sheryl Lee Ralph’s credits include “It’s a living,” “Designing Women,” “The District,” and most notably, the sassy, intelligent, loving step-mother in “Moesha.”

Tickets can be purchased at $25 per individual ticket and reserved tables of eight for $225 at the office of Davis Broadcasting, 2203 Wynnton Road, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The celebration won’t end there. That evening a “Battle of Old School vs New School” After Party will be held.
