A man was arrested Thursday afternoon for shoplifting after he threatened an employee at the Buena Vista Road Walmart, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

Police reported that Marvin Young, 49, was stopped by loss prevention at about 5:15 p.m. after he concealed and attempted to steal $60 worth of goods. Young then threatened the employee with a black Gerber knife in his pocket.

Young was arrested and charged with shoplifting and simple assault. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
