Suspects attempt to escape crack cocaine charges by ducking in car

Two people were arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine Thursday morning after they attempted to hide from officers by ducking down inside a vehicle, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

Kasey Devitt, 23, and James Devitt, 27, were approached by officers at about 4 a.m. Thursday after they were spotted slouching down inside a 2004 Saturn parked in the driveway of a residence on the 4900 block of 11th Avenue.

Both were charged with possession of crack cocaine and were taken to Muscogee County Jail.
