Grand opening for city’s first Bojangles’ on Schomburg Road is Monday

The wait is over for Bojangles’ fans.

The chicken and biscuit chain will hold a grand opening for its first Columbus restaurant, 7660 Schomburg Road, on Monday. The eatery actually had a “soft opening” earlier this week to smooth out its operations and get everything ready.

The 3,808-square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru window seats 72 diners, with wi-fi Internet and two flat-screen televisions as amenities. The Columbus store is being franchised by Raleigh, N.C.-based 3HS LLC, a company comprised of a father, Robbie Hill Jr., and his three daughters — Cortney Hill Stallings, Kimberly Hill Hayden and Elizabeth Hill Hadley.

Stallings, in a statement, touted the “distinctive array of chicken dishes, fresh buttermilk biscuits and fixins” offered by Bojangles’, which will employ about 40 locally.

That should grow, with 3HS planning seven of the restaurants in and around the Columbus area.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Bojangles’ was founded in 1977 and has grown to 530 outlets in 10 states and Washington, D.C. Most of them are located in the Southeast.
