MeadWestvaco is donating $250,000 to the Columbus State University Coca-Cola Space Science Center in Columbus.

The announcement was made tonight at the center.

MeadWestvaco is a cardboard packaging manufacturer with a plant in Cottonton, Ala. in southern Russell County.

The money will be used for renovations in front of the center where a Space Shuttle Launch Experience will be created.

"It will be interactive. People will go into the shuttle and feel like they are being launched into space," center director Shawn Cruzen said.
