A resident's tip led police today to capture Robert Junior Taylor, wanted for murder in Friday's fatal shooting of his girlfriend Lakeisha Shoulders on Debby Street.

Detectives said the tipster called them around noon today and told them Taylor, 37, was back in the area where his girlfriend lived.

Officers responding to the call found Taylor at Sidney Drive and Sims Street, where he was arrested without force.

Charged with murder and using a firearm to commit a crime, Taylor is to have a Recorder's Court hearing at 9 a.m. Friday, police said.

Shoulders was found wounded around 1 p.m. Friday outside her home at 4249 Debby St., Apt. C. She died later at the hospital.

Taylor left the area with his 9-month-old daughter, whom he released unharmed at his parents' house, police said.

Investigators said Shoulders and Taylor previously had engaged in domestic violence and another disturbance ensued shortly before the shooting.
