American Idol Top 7 song choice spoilers: What can we expect on classic rock night?

ssorich@ledger-enquirer.comApril 3, 2013

Classic rock night on "American Idol" has to be exciting, right?

Well, let's not get our hopes up. Sure, it's a slightly promising that ballads aren't allowed. But I have a sneaking suspicion the seven remaining "Idol" contestants will find a way to make rock music boring.

Need proof? Consider this week's song choice spoilers from TheIdolPad:

Solo Performances:

Amber Holcomb - "What About Love" by Heart

Angela Miller (with piano) - "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence featuring Paul McCoy

Burnell Taylor - "You Give Love A Bad Name" by Bon Jovi

Candice Glover - "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones

Janelle Arthur - "You May Be Right" by Billy Joel

Kree Harrison - "Piece Of My Heart" by Janis Joplin

Lazaro Arbos - "We Are The Champions" by Queen

Duo/Trio Performances:

Amber Holcomb, Janelle Arthur, & Kree Harrison - TBD

Angela Miller & Lazaro Arbos - "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen

Burnell Taylor & Candice Glover - "The Letter" by The Box Tops

Impressed? Yep, I'm a little lukewarm, too. On the plus side, I have complete faith in Candice Glover (as usual). And while her song choice is overdone on "Idol" Kree should do pretty well tonight, too. As for everyone else...I'm worried.

Tonight's show airs 8 p.m. on Fox. I'll live-blog as usual.
