Woman arrested on Manchester Expressway for $4,000 worth of meth, other drug possession

A woman arrested for possession of $4,000 worth of methamphetamine among other drugs faced charges of trafficking meth during a 9 a.m. Wednesday Recorder's Court hearing.

Donna Washington, 32, faced charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of a Schedule IV drug during the hearing.

Officers told the court that Washington was driving a scooter without a valid tag at the McDonald's on Hamilton Road at about 1 p.m. when police first began following her. She was later stopped on Manchester Expressway.

When police spoke with Washington, she told officers that her license was suspended. She also showed officers a black bag with multiple smoking devices when asked if she had any illegal substances with her.

After searching Washington, police allegedly found 1.5 ounces of meth, valued at $4,000, along with another smoking device and a small amount of marijuana. One Hydrocodone, two Oxycodone pills of different strengths, seven Xanax and one Adderall were also found in Washington's possession.

Washington was taken to Muscogee County Jail. Her case will be forwarded to Muscogee County Superior Court.
