Woman charged with meth possession after shoplifting at Walmart

A woman was arrested and charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute Wednesday after she attempted to shoplift from Walmart, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

Kelli Colwell, 41, was arrested at about 11:20 p.m. Wednesday after she was apprehended for attempting to shoplift at the Walmart on Buena Vista Road. The report did not list the items she attempted to take or the amount of meth she had in her possession.

Colwell was taken to Muscogee County Jail.

During a 9 a.m. Recorder's Court hearing, Judge Michael Cielinski set Colwell's bond at $11,500.
