A retired nurse Linda Whitt of Mauk, Ga. is the winner of the 2013 St. Jude Dream Home.

"This is unbelievable," she said, shortly after hearing the news.

She was not watching the selection show on television. "I was watching the (Atlanta) Braves," she said. "I never thought I would win."

The campaign, which sold tickets for $100 apiece, raised $474,980 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

"We have sold more tickets in the past," said senior chairman Mark Cantrell. "Still. it was success. We raised nearly half a million dollars for a great cause."

The house is valued at $300,000.
