Cocaine arrest made after shots reported near Dawson Street

A man was arrested for possession of cocaine Sunday after shots were reported near the intersection of 30th Avenue and Dawson Street, according to a Columbus Police report.

Rickey Grimes, 50, was arrested at about 3:15 a.m. on the 300 block of 25th Street while officers were en route to investigate shots fired near 30th Avenue and Dawson Street. The report did not list any injuries resulting from firearms.

Grimes was charged with possession of drug related objects, obstruction and loitering and prowling. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
