Casting call: Extras needed for locally filmed movie starring Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep

A casting call will be held in Columbus on Saturday, April 27, to find extras for "The Homesman." Extras are needed for filming scheduled to take place May 20-24 in Westville, Ga. The film is set in 1855 and stars Tommy Lee Jones, Meryl Streep and Hilary Swank.

Here's how a casting agency summarizes the film: "A claim jumper and a pioneer woman team up to escort three insane women from Nebraska to Iowa in 1855."

The casting call is noon-5 p.m. April 27 at the Columbus Marriott, 800 Front Ave. Pay will be discussed at the casting. Interested? These are the extras the film wants to cast, according to the casting agency:

*Reenactor men and women (with 1850’s period clothing), ages 18 to 65, Caucasian

*Reenactor children (with 1850’s period clothing), ages 5-13, Caucasian

*Stewart County men and women, ages 18-65, Caucasian, to play pioneer men and women

Hair requirements:

-Men need to have hair that comes down over the tops of your ears or longer and facial hair is a plus. All men chosen need to be willing to have hair cut and any facial hair shaped or trimmed.

-Women need to have shoulder length hair or longer (able to be put into a low bun)

Size requirements:

-For men, sizes are between a size 40 to 46 jacket range

-For women, sizes are between a size 0 to 12 dress range
