Jack T. Rutledge inmate dies in The Medical Center Tuesday

An inmate at the Jack T. Rutledge State Prison died Tuesday in custody at The Medical Center, according to The Muscogee County Coroner's Office.

Deputy Coroner Charles Newton said that a prisoner died Tuesday at The Medical Center. The cause of death has not yet been released, but Newton said "it's looking like it's natural."

The inmate's identity and other details about the death are not yet being released. Newton said details may be released Wednesday afternoon. Check back for updates as the story develops.
