Two fires reported on Colorado Street

Two unoccupied houses caught fire Thursday night and Friday morning on Colorado Street, according to the Columbus Fire Department.

Chief Ricky Shores said fire fighters received reports of a fire at 2811 Colorado Street at 9:06 p.m. They arrived at the unoccupied house at 9:09 p.m. At 1:12 a.m., a second structure on Colorado Street caught fire.

The department estimates damage for the first house at $20,000. The house at 2813 Colorado Street had damage estimated at $10,000.

Shores said the fire at 2811 Colorado Street is being investigated, and investigators are not sure how the second fire was started.
