CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson scored 11 runs over its final five at-bats to run away from Georgia Tech 11-1 in the first game of a doubleheader Friday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

With the forecast calling for rain on Saturday and Sunday, the decision was made for the teams to change the schedule to two games on Friday and a game at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Game 2 was set to start at 7 p.m.

Clemson (29-13, 14-8 ACC) scored a pair of unearned runs in the fifth inning to end the scoreless tie. After the Tigers added a run in the sixth, Georgia Tech (27-15, 11-11) got on the board in the seventh to trail 3-1. Zane Evans doubled and, two batters later, Sam Dove doiubled him in.

Sam farmer (7-3) took the loss, gkiving up six runs — four earned — in 6 1-3 innings.
