A Feathered Affair

What: Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity's fundraiser is a silent auction of sixty birdhouses. Birdhouses have been decorated by artists, local celebrities and community leaders.

When: 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, during Market Days

Where: Uptown Columbus, along the 1000 block of Broadway

Cost: Free to attend.

Dragon Boat Festival

What: Form a team to race these boats on the Chattahoochee River. Teams are made up of 20 paddlers and one drummer. Participants must be 14 years old to paddle and 12 years old to be a drummer. Paddles, life vests, boats and steerspersons will be provided, as well as a one training session in advance of the event. At least eight members of each team must be female.

When: Event is noon Saturday, May 25. Sign up by May 21.

Where: RiverWalk

Cost: $1200 for a corporate team and $800 for a community team. Individuals may join a forming team for $42.50. A portion of the event's proceeds will be given to the Children's Miracle Network at Columbus Regional Children's Hospital.

Picnic in the Garden

What: Pack a picnic and spend the day outdoors touring the gardens, listening to live music and playing games like badminton, bocce ball, croquet and ladder ball. Local musician Robin Treadwell will entertain picnickers with old-fashioned favorites.

When: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. May 11

Where: Hills & Dales Estate, LaGrange

Cost: Admission is free if you bring a picnic basket and blanket.

The Addams Family

What: The show takes the audience into the "darkly delicious world" of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and Lurch.

When: 7:30 p.m. May 29-30.

Where: RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.

Cost: $43.50-$53.50.

Arts in the Park

What: The 17th annual event features art, music, food and children's activities.

When: Noon-6 p.m. Sunday, May 19

Where: Lakebottom Park, in and around the bandshell.

Cost: Free but bring cash to purchase art.
