May 4, 2013

A Columbus man died Saturday from injuries he sustained after he was struck in the head Monday with a tree limb on Blan Street. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the man as Christopher Hartin who was pronounced dead at 12:42 p.m. in the intensive care unit at The Medical Center. He died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Bryan said Hartin was cutting a tree limb at his Oakland Park home when the accidental injury occurred. “He cut the limb and it swung down and hit him,” the coroner said.

No autopsy will be conducted in the death.
