Police arrest man for Schedule II drugs, loitering near Fourth Avenue

A man was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule II drugs after he was stopped for loitering near Fourth Avenue Monday, according to a Columbus Police report.

Police stopped Vernon Collis Huckelba, 34, at about 1 a.m. near the intersection of Fourth Avenue and 32nd Street. While speaking with Huckelba, officers discovered he had Schedule II drugs in his possession. The specific drug was not identified.

Huckelba was charged with Schedule II drugs and loitering, according to the report. The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office inmate registry lists additional charges of manufacturing and distribution for controlled substances.

Huckelba was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
