A 19-year-old man faced charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute Monday during an 8 a.m. Recorder's Court hearing.

Joshua Evans, 19, faced charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug related items Monday after he was arrested in connection to a party on Auburn Avenue Sunday morning. Three other individuals were arrested at the same party for charges ranging from maintaining a disorderly house to distribution of a controlled substance.

Police told Judge Michael Cielinski they were working on clearing the house on the 2900 block of Auburn Avenue, where several underage patrons seemed to have been attending the party, when they came in contact with a man holding a suspicious book bag. Inside the book bag was a digital scale, 27 grams of marijuana, a spice grinder, plastic baggies and a Columbus State University student ID belonging to 19-year-old Joshua Evans.

Officers tracked Evans to his home, where he was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Police told Cielinski that Evans' mother asked him during the arrest if the charges were accurate and if he did sell marijuana, to which he replied yes.

Evans also told police that he is a mathematics major at CSU.

Cielinski set Evans' bond at $6,000 during Monday's hearing.

During the party on Auburn Avenue Sunday, police responded to the house at about 12:20 a.m. after receiving numerous noise complaints. Officers reported that a large group of people fled when police arrived, and that many of the party-goers appeared to be underage.

Meagan Konkol, 19, was also arrested Sunday and charged with possession and use of drug related objects, maintaining a disorderly house and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Calvin J. Tucker, 18, was arrested and charged with possession, manufacture and distribution of a controlled substance as well as loitering, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and minor in possession of alcohol.

Torie Kerce, 18, was arrested and charged with possession and use of drug related objects, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, giving false information to an officer and maintaining a disorderly house.
