Goodwill opens retail store in Midland area; career center there opens July 8

May 13, 2013

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers on Monday opened a new retail store at 6707 Flat Rock Court in the Midland area of Columbus, adjacent to the Tractor Supply store.

Its 15,867-square-foot “Columbus East” location also will be home to a career center — scheduled to open July 8 — that will offer job training programs and employment placement services. The retail shopping operation, which sells used goods, helps fund the programs.

“Columbus has been really great to us,” Jane Nichols, local Goodwill president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “The community has shown outstanding enthusiasm and support for what we do here at Goodwill. Because of this, we are not only expanding our retail store offerings, but we are bringing our mission to develop people, change lives and help build this community.”
