Reward offered in Valley on burglary, rape cases

VALLEY, Ala. -- The City of Valley and Greater Valley Area CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for two burglaries and rapes in the area of 55th Street and 56th Street, according to a news release from the Valley Police Department.

On March 22, a 51-year-old woman reported that a black man entered her residence on 56th Street and sexually assaulted her. She stated that the suspect appeared to be in his late teens and was wearing a black hoodie and white shorts, the release says.

On May 11, a 91-year-old woman reported that a black man entered her residence on 55th Street and sexually assaulted her. She stated that the suspect appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s, with short hair and a slender build, and was wearing a white shirt with yellow writing and dark shorts, the release says.
