A handful of changes concerning Pacelli athletic personnel were announced via press release on Tuesday, including the promotion of Alan Griffin to athletic director.

Griffin, who has been the assistant athletic director and middle school athletic director for the past six years, will take over the position previously held by Chris Garner, who will remain on staff and focus on his role as director of technology.

While at Pacelli, Griffin has served as boys basketball coach, assistant football coach and director for the school’s summer camps.

Two head coaching changes were also announced by the school. Heather Wilkinson will take over for the Lady Vikings softball team and Ryan Babb will take over for girls basketball.

Wilkinson will replace Lonny Arrington, who is retiring after 39 years of coaching and teaching. Wilkinson is new to Pacelli and most recently held the position of junior varsity softball coach and assistant varsity coach for softball at Ramstein American High in Germany.

The Lady Vikings finished 16-12 last season, losing to Pace Academy in the first round of the Class A private playoffs.

Babb, who replaces Alan Upton) has served as Pacelli’s assistant coach both boys basketball, girls basketball and football. He is a certified personal trainer and plays for the Columbus Lions. He takes over a team that won just two games this past season.
