Small Business Week in Columbus continues Wednesday with boot camp sessions on contracting and social media, with the half-day event taking place at Columbus State Universitys Cunningham Center, 3100 Gentian Blvd.
Cost of the event, which be held 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., is $25 for members of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce, with lunch included.
The weeks festivities wrap up Thursday with an Eye-Opener Breakfast at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. The networking event from 7-8:30 a.m. will include featured speaker William Taylor of Taylor CPA & Associates.
Thursday evening, a gala will be held to recognize chamber members in several categories Small Business Giant of the Year, Chamber Visionary Award, Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Drugs Dont Work Workplace of the Year. The event takes place 6-8:30 p.m. at the River Mill Event Center, 3715 1st Ave., Columbus. Tickets are $50 for chamber members. To register for any of the events, call 706-327-1566.
The Columbus chamber, which dates to 1845 and is the first five-star accredited chamber in Georgia, represents more than 1,200 businesses. More than 8 percent of the organizations members are small businesses.
