Police probe series of car break-ins in Midland

Columbus police are investigating reported car break-ins in Midland, Ga.

All happened between 12:15 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Saturday.

On Green Glen Drive, a handgun valued at $450 was reported taken from the center console of a Ford truck parked in the driveway of a residence.

According to the police report, the vehicle was left unlocked.

On Greenfield Court, a Chrysler Town and Country Van was entered, and according to the police report, the vehicle was unlocked in the driveway. Papers kept in the glove box were found scattered on the floor of the vehicle, but no items were taken.

On Whisper Glen Drive, a Jeep Wrangler was entered. It was in the driveway of the residence.

According to the police report, nothing was taken, but papers from the glove box were found on the floor.

In one incident on Green Glen Court, a 2004 Honda Accord was entered and about $5 worth of change was taken.

The car, parked in the driveway, was unlocked according to the police report.

In another incident on the same street, a 2013 Kia Sorento was entered.

A cellphone cover worth $20 and $3 in change was taken.

The car, which was in the driveway of the residence, was unlocked.

Also on Green Glen Court, someone broke into a vehicle and using the remote found inside opened the garage door and took 500 CDs valued at about $5,000.

Also taken was a gaming system.
