Departure: The Journey Tribute Band plays a concert and fundraiser for Capt. Jackey Long at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 8, as part of the Uptown Concert Series at 100th block of Broadway. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be used to help pay for medical expenses for Long, a Columbus Police Department captain on medical leave who has been diagnosed with cancer.

“Jackey is an asset to the Uptown community. He understands the value of an entertainment district,” said Uptown President Richard Bishop in a news release. “He has given so much to the Uptown Community we wanted to help out in any way we can.”
