June 28-30: Exotic Driving Experience: Exotic Driving Experience gives you the opportunity to get behind the wheel of various supercars with coaching and feedback provided by a professional driving instructor. Aug. 4: The Graffiti Run: The Graffiti Run will be the most colorful day of your life. The 5k course is more about having a blast with friends and family than it is about busting out four minute miles. Just show up in all white clothing, and throughout the course you will enter “Graffiti Zones,” where the team will douse you in color. Following the run, enjoy music, food and festivities. Aug. 18: Drenched 5K: Whether you are young, old, slow or fast, everyone has fond memories of hot summers where the best way to cool off was a friendly spray of the hose, an ice cold bucket of water poured over a friend’s head, water balloons and water guns out for battle. Aug. 10: Global Rallycross Atlanta: Action sports with a roll cage! You’ve seen racing, but you’ve never seen anything quite like what will be at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Aug. 10. The Global Rallycross Championship makes its debut in Atlanta at AMS on a custom-designed course, featuring asphalt and dirt racing surfaces, water elements, drifting turns and the largest aerial jump in GRC history! These compact-style cars are capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds! Tickets start at just $20. Kids ages six to 12 are just $10, with kids five and under free. Aug. 30: NASAR Sprint Cup Series Qualifying, Brad Keselowski Q&A and United Sprint Car Series Racing: NASCAR’s top stars return to the high banks of Atlanta Motor Speedway for three evenings of NASCAR night racing. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying will set the field for Sunday’s AdvoCare 500, followed by a question-and-answer session with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski. After that, the drivers of the United Sprint Car Series will take on the quarter-mile “Thunder Ring” in the debut of sprint car racing at AMS. Aug. 31: NASCAR Nationwide Series Race: NASCAR’s top stars return to the high banks of Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second of three evenings of NASCAR night racing. Saturday’s action will include NASCAR Sprint Cup Series final practice, followed by 300 miles of high-speed havoc as Brian Vickers, Elliott Sadler, Austin Dillon and other NASCAR stars slam doors in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race under the lights at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Sept. 1: AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race: The superstars of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series return to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the track’s third NASCAR Sprint Cup Series night race on Labor Day weekend. Friday Night Drags & Show-N-Shine: Competing nearly every Friday night from April through August, local competitors power up for weekly drag racing among several divisions. Everything from full-blown dragsters to grandma’s grocery-getter will compete in side-by-side, heads-up drag racing along the speedway’s pit road eighth-mile drag strip. The Show-N-Shine Car Show offers fans a chance to show off their rides in the comforts of the NASCAR garage. Participating Show-N-Shine vehicles will be displayed on the frontstretch prior to the start of opening ceremonies, allowing fans an opportunity to walk on the track and look at the show cars up close. Thursday ThunderRunning every Thursday night from June 6 until July 25, NASCAR’s stars of tomorrow compete each week in Legends and Bandolero cars. Family-oriented fun in a kid-friendly environment which includes autograph sessions, a rock climbing wall, clowns, face painters and more. Nightly special events include Root Beer chugging contests, trivia games, a belly-flop contest and more.
