Man reports car hijacking near Trask Drive

A Columbus man's car was hijacked Wednesday night near the intersection of Trask Drive and Fort Benning Road, according to a Columbus Police report.

The victim told police that at about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday he stopped to make a purchase at a Shell gas station on the 1500 block of Fort Benning Road. He returned to his car and was about to pull out onto Fort Benning Road when a man sat up in the back seat and put a pistol to the back of his neck.

The man directed the victim to drive to the area of Munson Drive and Patton Drive and then made the victim get out of the car. The suspect also took $90 and a cell phone from the victim.

The victim then walked back to the gas station to call police.

Sufficient description of the suspect was not provided. No further details are available.
