June 21: The Friends of the Phenix City-Russell County Library host a bag sale

June 6, 2013

The Friends of the Phenix City-Russell County Library hosts a bag sale 2-6 p.m. Friday, June 21. Book lovers are invited to purchase bags ($3 for a plastic bag and $5 for a paper grocery bag) and fill them to the top with gently-used hardback and paperback books at the Friends’ bookstore. It's located in the Phenix City-Russell County Library located at 1501 17th Ave in Phenix City.

All categories of books, including fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, crafts and do-it-yourself volumes will be available. There are two walls of mysteries and true crime stories, a floor-to-ceiling shelf of America’s wars editions, biographies, history, humor, business and finance and many health categories. For those who are looking for a special volume of a favorite author (such as Mary Higgins Clark, Catherine Coulter, Sandra Brown, Jonathan Kellerman, etc.) one hall of the bookstore is filled with boxes of books by authors who write many volumes. And anyone who is fond of series romances will find another hall filled with those to add to bags — or buy a large box full for $5. VHS movies and CD music will also be available for 50 cents each.

The only things excluded from the bag sale are rare and collectible volumes and a collection of old magazines. For more information, call 334-297-5446.
