June 19-22: Miss Georgia Pageant competition

The 69th annual Miss Georgia Pageant and Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen Pageant will be held at the Bill Heard Theatre at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts beginning June 19. The preliminary competitions begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, with the crowning of the new Miss Georgia Saturday. The finals start at 7:30 p.m. June 22. Tickets are $35 for Wednesday-Thursday, $65 on Friday and $85 on Saturday. 706-256-3612.

Each contestant had to win a local competition for the opportunity to represent her city, university or region at the Miss Georgia competition. The winner will represent the state at the Miss America Pageant on Sept. 15 in Atlantic City. It will be televised on ABC, locally on WTVM 9. The Miss Georgia Scholarship Pageant features 40 women ages 17 to 24 vying for the title of Miss Georgia 2013.

Preliminary competitions feature contestants competing in swimsuit, talent, onstage questions and evening wear. The 41 Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen contestants compete in fitness, talent, onstage questions and evening wear.
