Sport biker clocked at 142 mph, survives crash during chase on U.S. 29

A 24-year-old Luverne, Ala., man hit speeds above 140 mph on his sport bike while leading Alabama Troopers and Troy Police on a wild chase that lasted about 20 miles, then survived a crash after the rear tire on his motorcycle blew out, according to a press release from Alabama State Troopers.

Ryan Brown was admitted to Troy Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He will be charged with Attempting to Elude and Reckless Endangerment. He was issued traffic citations for doing 142 mph in a 55 mph zone, improper passing, no insurance and no tag.

The chase occurred on U.S. 29.
