No one was injured Friday after shots were fired into a unit at Booker T. Washington Apartments, Columbus police said.

Shots were fired into an apartment at 545 Fifth Ave. sometime after 11 a.m. A 10-year-old girl told police that she was in the living room when a bullet came through the kitchen window. The bullet then struck the wall, bounced off and landed on the kitchen floor, police said.

During an investigation, police found two shell casings from a .45-caliber pistol on the grass about 15 feet from the kitchen window. Police seized the shell casings and the investigation continues.
