A man and woman faced drug possession and reckless conduct charges in Recorder's Court Thursday morning after marijuana was found on a 3-year-old in their care.

Johnny Rose, 20, faced charges of possession of marijuana, reckless conduct and possession of drug related objects during the 8 a.m. hearing. Talshawna Guess, 22, faced a reckless conduct charge.

Officer Ryan Vardman told the court that he was patrolling Andrews Court Apartments on the 2400 block of Cusseta Road at about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday when he noticed a 2000 Buick Century with the lights on in the parking lot. When he approached the vehicle, he noticed an odor of marijuana and three people sitting inside.

When Vardman searched the occupants of the car, he found 12.5 grams of marijuana in the pockets of a 3-year-old sitting in the back seat. Guess denied putting the marijuana in the child's pockets. It was later determined that the drugs belonged to Rose.

A digital scale was also found during the search.

Both Rose and Guess were transported to Muscogee County Jail.

During the hearing, Judge Michael Joyner set Rose's bond at $7,750. Guess's bond was set at $2500.
