July 13: Commemorative ceremony honoring General Henry Lewis Benning

Historic Linwood Foundation and the Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence will host a commemorative ceremony honoring General Henry Lewis Benning on the 138th anniversary of his death. The ceremony will be held in Historic Linwood Cemetery at the grave site of General Benning, for whom Fort Benning is named, on Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m.

Remarks will be offered by military and cemetery personnel. This event is free and open to the public. In case of rain, it will be held in the Lummus Chapel at the east end of the cemetery. For more information, please call 706-321-8285.
