Donate your change to help the Ronald McDonald House Charities

Posted on June 27, 2013

You can help support the families of seriously ill and injured children by donating your change at local McDonald's restaurants during the annual "Round-up for the Ronald McDonald House" campaign through June 30. McDonald's guests are asked to "round" their food purchases up to the next dollar and donate their change to the local Ronald McDonald House Charities of West GA, Inc. Your donation -- 100 percent -- will stay in Columbus and be used at the local house which serves as a “home-away-from-home” for families traveling here to receive specialized medical treatment for their children.

To help get the campaign rolling, local volunteers will be at area McDonald's during the lunch hour, starting at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, June 28. "her" editor Dawn Minty is excited to participate for the first time. She'll be at the McDonald's in downtown Columbus at 1338 Veterans Parkway. Reporter Sandra Okamoto will be at the McDonald's at Macon Road and I-185. She's a veteran volunteer for the "Round Up." Read her blog post about the fundraiser here.
