Two wielding knife, shotgun arrested on Simmons Avenue after injuring each other

Two men were arrested Monday afternoon on Simmons Avenue after one stabbed the other and the second man responded by allegedly hitting his opponent in the head with a shotgun, according to a Columbus Police report.

Police responded to the 2300 block of Simmons Avenue at about 1:20 p.m. in reference to a stabbing. After investigating, it was determined that Domonique Evans, 18, hit Vincent Thomas, 44, in the head with a shotgun. Thomas in turn, used a knife to stab the Evans.

Evans sustained a cut to the left side of his head, to the back of his head and to his left wrist. Thomas received a large laceration to the forehead from the shotgun.

Both were transported to The Medical Center. They were then charged with aggravated assault and taken to Muscogee County Jail.
