Man, 49, charged in robbery at Circle K

A suspect has been charged in the June 25 robbery of the Circle K on Second Avenue in Columbus, police said.

Tony Jones, 49, was charged with one count of armed robbery in the holdup at 4420 Second Ave., disorderly while intoxicated, possession and use of a drug related object and giving false information to police. He is being held in the Muscogee County Jail.

Police said Jones was arrested about 2:40 a.m. Friday after he was identified by the victim in the convenience store robbery. After he was taken into custody, Jones was found in possession of a metal smoking device used to smoke crack cocaine.

The suspect told police that he is homeless and unemployed.
