Police investigating report of armed robbery near Stop and Shop Grocery

A Columbus teen reported to police that he was robbed at gunpoint near the Stop and Shop Grocery on 11th Avenue.

According to the police report, the victim, 16, was walking along the street Saturday at 2:15 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown black male who asked him if he wanted to "buy some weed."

The teen said he did not and asked the man for his name and telephone number.

The man then pulled out a black pistol and pointed it at the victim. He demanded that the teen empty his pockets and then run away.

Stolen were a Galaxy S2 phone valued at $560 and $60 in currency.

The thief was described at being more than 6-feet tall with a slim build. He was was wearing khaki shorts, a black shirt and black hat.
