The District 8 Little League All-Star tournament continues to be plagued by rain as the Northern vs. American major baseball game was postponed for the fourth time when the latest thunderstorm rolled through Columbus Sunday afternoon.

The two teams, who are playing for a berth in the championship game, will try again at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The tournaments are being hosted by Sally Little League at Shirley Winston Park.

In an earlier game Sunday in major baseball, Harris County eliminated Peach 9-8. Harris County will play the Northern-American loser on Tuesday.

Sunday's play was not a complete washout, however.

A champion was crowned in senior softball as Pioneer beat Northern 11-5. Pioneer advanced to the state tournament, which it is hosting later this month.

Pioneer and Northern are set to meet for the major softball title at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Northern won the 9-10 softball championship Saturday.

No games were played in the 9-10 tournament Sunday as the Northern vs. Albany game was postponed. They will try to play at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The Northern-Albany winner will play American in the championship game on Tuesday.

A pair of suspended games were completed in the 10-11 baseball tournament as Pioneer beat Harris County 5-4 and American beat Sally 11-8. American then eliminated Pioneer 11-0.

Northern and American will play at 6 p.m. Monday with Peach awaiting the winner in the championship game on Tuesday.
