Woman dies in Montgomery crash

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A woman was killed Sunday morning during a vehicular crash near Montgomery, according to an Alabama Department of Public Safety press release.

Tranise Joiner, 43, was killed after her 2004 Chevy Tahoe left the roadway and struck a utility pole at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Joiner was about three miles away from the city when the crash occurred.

When the car overturned, Joiner was ejected from her seat. She was pronounced dead on scene.

Investigators report that seat belts were not used during the crash. State Troopers are continuing an investigation of the incident.
