Police investigate report of armed robbery near Carousel Lounge

A man told Columbus police that he was the victim of an armed robbery Saturday night near the Carousel Lounge on Victory Drive.

According to the police report, the 39-year-old Columbus resident told officers he walking to a store next to the club around 11 p.m. when two black males in their 20s approached him and demanded money. He said that each of the thieves pointed a pistol at him.

He said one struck him in the back of his head and took his wallet. The two then ran toward the back of the Carousel Lounge.

He told police that one thief was tall and wore a blue and gray hoodie and shorts. The other was short and was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans

The victim refused help from EMS.
